Aviation Insurance generally deals with loss or damage to the aircraft or third party liability for death or injury or damage to property, passenger liability for accidental injury while in the aircraft, entering or leaving it, and includes accidental and consequential damage or loss to the aircraft. Aviation Insurance does not cover any liability for wear and tear, structural defect and electrical or mechanical damage or breakdown. In India insurance on aviation risks has been made mandatory. In the Aviation Insurance policies, there are warranties relating to airworthiness (fitness of the aircraft to fly) of the aircraft. In order to reject the claim, the insurer must prove breach of the warranty of airworthiness on the part of the person assured.
