The objective and purpose of the Christopher Columbus Fellowship Program is to persuade research and related activities in order to create new findings in all possible fields for the advantage and development of humanity.
The Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation is controlled by a 13 member board of trustee of which five members are appointed by the President, while others are appointed by the President in consultation with the President pro tempore of the Senate, Minority Leader of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Out of the thirteen members, a Chairman and a Vice- Chairman is designated by the President. All amounts collected by the Foundation or contributed to the Foundation are controlled by and under the Christopher Columbus Quincentenary Coin Act.
