The U.S. Commercial Service is the trade promotion initiative of the International Trade Administration. It has a network spread over 108 US cities and more than 80 overseas countries worldwide, covering nearly 96% of the US export markets.
This specialized service helps US exporters find new overseas buyers in the global market and to enhance sales in existing markets. If a buyer outside the US is looking for US suppliers to source his requirements, the U.S. Commercial Service helps him find US vendors of needed goods and services. It is particularly helpful to small and medium sized American companies to get started in the export market.
Its services include organizing trade fairs and exhibitions to show-case American products and services to overseas buyers, world class market research and connecting buyers and sellers in US foreign trade.
Under the Gold Key Service, a US Commercial Service officer of the US embassy in the concerned foreign country introduces representatives of US companies travelling abroad to prospective foreign buyers, in order to find international distribution outlets for American products. He organizes one-to-one meetings by and between them for clinching business deals. This is a charged service.
