Denial of market access -- U.S. exporters sometimes encounter trade barriers. For instance, a country may discriminate against imported goods in relation to domestic products.
Noncompliance issues – The United States is a party more than 250 trade agreements. However, foreign governments might be non compliant with their obligations under those trade agreements towards American exporters.
The aforesaid market access or non-compliance issues arise out of tariff and customs walls, testing and certification barriers, excessive government regulations, intellectual property protection problems, corruption, bribery, high licence fees and so on.
Market Access Compliance (MAC) desk officers of the US Government work towards solution of market access and compliance issues to remove such hindrances impeding exports.
