Other than a notice of contest, each paper required to be served is served upon the attorney or legal representative of the party, or, if he is not represented by an attorney, then in that eventuality the party himself. Service upon the attorney or upon a party is made:
• by delivering a copy to him in person
• by leaving it at his primary office with some person then in charge, or if the office is closed or the person to be served has no specified office, then leaving it at his abode or usual place of residence with a person of prudence not less than sixteen years of age then residing, or
• by mailing it addressed to the person to be served at his residence or principal office. Service by mail is deemed to be complete upon mailing.
All papers succeeding to the notice of contest required to be served upon the conflicting party are filed with the clerk either before service or within a practical time thereafter.
