The term murder can be termed as the unlawful killing of a human being with malicious intention.
The following actions are grouped under the category of murder of first degree:-
- murder by using poison
- lying in wait, or any other kind of willful, deliberate, malicious, and premeditated killing
- committed during the course of or during an attempt to commit arson, escape, murder, kidnapping, treason, espionage, sabotage, aggravated sexual abuse, other kind of sexual abuse
- during the course of any child abuse
- during the course of burglary or robbery
Murder of any other kind is grouped under the category of murder of second degree.
Any person who is guilty of murder of the first degree is punishable by death or by imprisonment for life. Persons guilty of murder of the second degree shall face imprisonment for any term which may extend to life depending upon the gravity of the case.
