In exercise of the powers conferred by the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission with the previous approval of the Central Government has set a compilation of some regulations called the Consumer Protection Regulations, 2005. Some of the regulations therein include arrangements in Consumer Forum, working hours of the Consumer Forum, Dress code of members of every Consumer Forum while presiding over the Benches, Cause list of the Consumer forum, right of Appearance of Voluntary Consumer Organisations before the Consumer Forum, procedure of Institution of complaints, appeals and revision petitions before District Forum, State Commission and National Commission, giving of Nomenclature to the complaints, appeals and revisions petitions to be filed before the Consumer Forums issuance of a notice in respect of a complaint, appeal or revision petition, to the opposite parties.
