Eligibility Conditions for MPs

In order to stand in the MP elections, a person must:

Be over 18 years old
A British Citizen or a citizen of any Commonwealth Country or belonging to the Republic of Ireland.
Be nominated by minimum 10 parliamentary electors of the constituency wherefrom he wishes to stand
Be authorized by the Party’s officer
Deposit Ł500 alongwith the submission of the nomination papers. The same is returned to the concerned candidate if he receives minimum 5% of the total votes cast.
